Run to the Hills: Nikita in MammothPosted on April 18th, 2008 by nikita | | 161 views |
I can only imagine the unease of moms in Mammoth during the beginning of April. If I were them I’d consider hiding my sons. During the first week of April the ladies took over town as Snowboarder hosted their 4th annual Ms Superpark. And the ladies were out in full force. Having overlapped with the Chicken Jam this year due to weather the ladies took over town. Seriously, when else can you walk into a bar in a ski town and have the women outnumbering the men 5 to 1, huh? Here are a few photos of the few days Nikita was in town:

First we had to drive there from SoCal. It was flat, then a few hills, lots of run-down mines, random signs for The Best Jerky Ever and people of all walks of life manning the gas stations.

There were some trains.
We finally arrived in Mammoth to see the last of the chicken Jam. The following day, off to Ms Superpark.

There was some of this going on
And some of this
As far as veggie food goes, well, it was a little sparse on day one but we ended up bringing some veggie dogs the next day. Phew, soy products. Otherwise we ate something like this:

This was the one nasty day. Bridges was a bit bummed on the turnout. The weather improves, so did Bridges’ mood. Phew.

Nikita rider, Jordie Karlinski showed up with her pops. Umm, hello, can you say stylin’ dad?

Rian Rhoe came down from the Bonfire offices in Portland and Leslie Glenn took a brake from slaughtering the hip.

Maribeth found some blue Zinca. Totally marketable look.

She also found Jamie hanging out on the sled….ummmm not under the influence of anything.

Vera and Sarah deep in convo jump-side

Took some runs with the boys and Mimi from Snowboarder. Just like the old days, all about the fun factor. Kyle may be getting radical here.

Neil was on site to capture some sweet lady moves

And then it was party time. Nothing like drinking beer in a small mountain town at altitude

The randies came to play from LA.

And people got loose for sure
Mimi from snowboarder and Rian from Bonfire

Jared Johnson and Vera keeping bar bar down. Yeah, they’re both caught off guard.

This is a photo of one of Kyle Kennedy’s photos. So all the guys and Mimi got to know the red Bull guys that came to hang out at the event. They came with a box truck. The Snowboarder family pretty much went wherever the box truck went. Here they are eating dinner in the back of the truck at who knows what time.
All in all, a fun event with a good premise. Get all those shredtastic ladies together and see what they can do. It was a good few days of fun for sure.

And, uummm, Uggs still do exist. This is a family of five, all wearing Uggs. Speachless. Thought you’d enjoy this Ugg insight.
