A dollar and a day late but here’s the crappy keystone vid. It’s filmed in two runs cause the weather was shitty and me and Gerrit just wanted to shred. Some Sundown Showdown footage in there as well. There was no sun coming down but the snow was coming down full force. A rail jam in the snow is pretty funny but filming it is another story.

Micah came along for the ride and she is the coolest. When I first met her she asked me for a mustachio sticker and when we came back the next day it was all cut out supernice on her helmet in the best spot. This day she bought me and Gerrit the biggest pizza we ate while we were in the US. Pretty cool eh?

Edit might strike you somewhat odd but turn the volume up and hear a lot of sampled rambling from my part. Hope you like it. Actually I don’t care. Making it was pretty fun. I know it sucks though.

Here’s the nicely compressed quicktime version but click the link below for a crip highres one. It’s really big so it’s gonna take some time to load. Either way, just watch it.

Look at those flowing locks. Danny Kass getting’ lifted in his own way.

Words: Tawnya Schultz / Photos: Binky and K Deezy

In its 4th year Grenade Games has turned into quite the spectacle so much so that the entire police force was called out in attempts to rain on our parade. Well there’s only one way to say it and nobody better to quote in this situation than N.W.A.; “Fuck the police.” There are serious crimes taking place, people missing, rapists lingering the streets and the city decides to place all of its energy on a bunch of alleged criminal snowboarders who are simply looking to enjoy the mountains; and so what, maybe a little greenery, but honestly is that stuff seriously still illegal? It’s a lose lose situation and it was a conspiracy in fact.

South Shore Soldiers Rob Crosby and Shasta with The Dingo.

There were at least 10 vehicles pulled over on the 15 mile drive from Mammoth to June Lake with another 15 to 20 officials lingering on both sides of the highway. The DEA was out, the drug dogs, the paddy wagon, a contraband drop off, and drug search check point. It was no joke. Well yeah actually maybe it was. Ya see it was truly all fun and “games” because us, us little snowboarders, with our criminal minds found a way around the system and still got higher than the sky all 4/19 and 4/20. So who’s laughing now?

As was Mitch Reed. Do you see where I’m going with this?

Even though everyone was getting pulled over for any and everything possible including but not limited to no front license plate, a cracked windshield, driving with goggles on, from what I know no one was arrested just given tickets and all that was confiscated was less than an ounce of weed total. Let me not get too far off base from the event’s original intentions and that is celebrating the shred and coming together for few days of peace and unity.

Girl fight.

The weather was slightly frigid for April and definitely windy but everyone made the best of it shredding the day away Saturday on the legit slope-style setup and taking part in a number or Genadesque competitions. After a lil’ rest and some much needed Pita Pit to get back on track for the night’s party the crew headed to Whiskey Creek. Once again overcapacity, cops outside, lines at the bar, and any and everyone from the Grenade Army up in the mix.

It’s all just love here.

The morning of 4/20 meant a blunted wakeup call and getting back on the wagon for another full day of party…and shred. The pipe was calling (ha, ha) and the players were out to play: Mason Aguirre, Kyle Clancy, Doran Laybourn, Luke Mitrani, Danny Kass, Louie Vito, Scotty Arnold, Chas Guldemond, Lane Knaack, the list goes on. And for those who opted not to hike the pipe all day a mini quarter-pipe and picnic table jib setup were constructed to play around on.

Hey BrOs! Shaun White can jubilate!
The Flying Tomato arrived in Saas-Fee yesterday evening at 11.30pm, went to party and listened to Scott Sullivan’s concert and today he ruled the Snickers Classic slopestyle with class, stomping back to back 9s. Respect!
By winning the contest in front of Juuso Laivisto and host Freddi K., he not only made 10 000 bucks for first place, he also earned 50 000$ more for ending the season at the first spot in the TTR ranking!!?
Yeah that’s right, Shaun has more points than Kevin Pearce, but Kevin remains TTR World Champ as the official crowning was held during the US Open. So to smoothen everything up and thank Shaun for his commitment to TTR, Reto Lamm, TTR CEO, handed him out a 50 000$ check!

<a href="http://snowbroader.eu/2008/04/19/snickers-classic-or-how-to-make-60-000-in-a-day/" title="Here is a video showing you how Shaun won 60000 grant in 24 hours.

I was up at Breck for the last few days since they have shut all the lifts down as of Sunday afternoon. It could not have been better, going from 2 feet of blower pow on tuesday to perfect slushy spring time shredding by the weekend. Saturday was action packed all day, I did a bit of shooting with Colin Spencer who was wrapping up his park filming for the season. Alex Martini pulled some amazing in-air video work.

Shame they are closing with full coverage, prime parks and perfect pipe. Until next year.

Loon Mountain is one of the east coasts’ last mountainsstill open. New Hampshires own Brendon Rego and Brandon Griffin found themselves in Lincoln, NH for 5 straight days enjoying what little winter still has left to offer.

Brandon Griffin and Brendan Rego team up. Ian post photo

The conditions were slushy as ever, with temperatures of almost 75 all weekend. Time off of the mountain was spent in shorts and tanktops sitting next to the grill with friends. Loon had its park groomed up so that people could take there last stab at the melting mountain during its last weekend.

As the weekend went on, we found ourselves strugging to keep up withthe slushy conditions spring has brought us. Numerous belly flops, scorpians, and unintentional front flips seemed to be the current scene for most riders out on the hill.

Rome’s Brendon Rego. Ian Post Photo’s.

Loon’s final words were spoken today, April 21st. For your last chance to keep this winter alive, be sure to attend the final contest of the year, Hike and Huck, May 10th at Loon Mountain.

I can only imagine the unease of moms in Mammoth during the beginning of April. If I were them I’d consider hiding my sons. During the first week of April the ladies took over town as Snowboarder hosted their 4th annual Ms Superpark. And the ladies were out in full force. Having overlapped with the Chicken Jam this year due to weather the ladies took over town. Seriously, when else can you walk into a bar in a ski town and have the women outnumbering the men 5 to 1, huh? Here are a few photos of the few days Nikita was in town:

First we had to drive there from SoCal. It was flat, then a few hills, lots of run-down mines, random signs for The Best Jerky Ever and people of all walks of life manning the gas stations.
